RESEARCH GRANT AWARD RGA #04-25 - Design Integration Management Course Update

The Charles Pankow Foundation (CPF) is pleased to announce the award of a new research grant to for an updated Design Integration Management course in coordination with the Design-Build Insitute of America (DBIA). The course is envisioned to be Instructor led, based on the revised content of the Guides, insight from DBIA, and SME’s (Subject Matter Expert). Notably the American Institute of Architects AIA, working with the DBIA has expressed an interest in providing guidance and insight to the course development.

The instructor led course will be a full day. The sector specific playbooks will be presented as 60-90 minute on-line modules to supplement the full-day fundamentals course. The construction company of Hensel Phelp’s CIT (Continuous Improvement Training) department, consisting of industry educational content developers has volunteered to assume the redevelopment of the course pro bono.

The University of Florida, led by Dr. Bryan Frantz (primary researcher for the redeveloped guide content) would provide oversight and guidance for the course development to reflect the content of the primary and sector specific guides, working with the DBIA staff, the DBIA Education Committee and the industry SME’s. Industry Champion is Greg Gidez with industry support from Hensel Phelps and DBIA National.
